RS 485 to Fiber Optic Point-to-Point Converter
The RS 485 to Fiber Optic Converter use the progressive digital technologies to provide outstanding repeatable performance for today’s data systems. The converter supports transmission of one bi-directional data channel over one single mode or multi-mode optical fiber. It supports RS485 (2 wire and 4 wire) and RS232 Standards. It has a plug and play design that ensures an ease of installation with no electrical or optical adjustment needed. LED Indicators installed in the unit clearly shows the operational status of unit. The converter is available in compact wall mount or 3U chassis card.
This converter is equipped with a multiple interface circuit which can handle RS485 serial interfaces and multi-mode or single-mode fiber. These converters are used to extend serial transmission distance up to 2km in multi-mode fiber or up to 20-100km in single-mode fiber. This converter incorporates a method for automatically detecting the serial signal baud rate by the hardware. The signal will still be transmitted through the RS485 to Fiber Optic Converter without any issue even when the device’s baud rate is changed.

RS 485 to Fiber Optic Converter with Redundant Ring
The RS485 Redundant ring multi-drop self-healing ring transmission converters provide an optical self-healing ring network for RS232 and RS485 data interfaces over two single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers. This system offers maximum reliability as it can recover simultaneous faults in two different locations and has contact closure output on each module to clearly indicate any fault location. The self-healing ring consists of two opposing data paths, Ring A and Ring B. Only the primary path that is Ring A is used for data transfer under normal operation. At the time of any fault or failure, the data is transferred to the secondary path that is Ring B without interruption to the communications network.
The converter is available in Wall Mount, DIN rail or 3U Chassis card. Redundant Dual power supply is also an option available.
