PG-102-119 Gateway supports BACnet MSTP and OPC UA (client only) protocols.
This gateway can be configured to be:
OPC UA Client and BACnet MSTP Client: Hence this gateway will connect to a 3rd party OPC UA server and read or write tags. On the other hand it will be a BACnet client and it can read or write data from a BACnet server.
This mode is useful when you have BACnet MSTP based server devices and you need a solution to read values from them and write them to your OPC server. Or you want to constantly read OPC UA tags and write these values on a BACnet server device.
OPC UA Client and BACnet MSTP server: This is probably the most common mode of operation. And in this mode the gateway is configured to read OPC UA tags and publish them on BACnet MSTP as a server.
So a 3rd party building automation/management system (BAS/BMS) can now read all this data on BACnet (and hence have access to the OPC UA data via the gateway). It is also possible to write OPC UA tags from the BACnet side. So the BAS/BMS system can set values on the OPC UA server via the gateway.
