PG-104-125 Gateway supports SNMP and OPC DA (client only) protocols.
This gateway can be configured to be:
OPC DA Client and SNMP Client: Hence this gateway will connect to a 3rd party OPC DA server and read or write tags. On the other hand, it will be a SNMP client and it can read or write data from a SNMP server.
This mode is useful when you have SNMP based server devices and you need a solution to read values from them and write them to your OPC server. Or you want to constantly read OPC DA tags and write these values on a SNMP server device.
OPC DA Client and SNMP Server: This is probably the most common mode of operation. And in this mode the gateway is configured to read OPC DA tags and publish them on SNMP as a server.
So, a 3rd party building automation/management system (BAS/BMS) can now read all this data on SNMP (and hence have access to the OPC DA data via the gateway). It is also possible to write OPC DA tags from the SNMP side. So, the BAS/BMS system can set values on the OPC DA server via the gateway.
